Steven J. Finnegan
This is my Doctor of Executive Leadership Portfolio. As the Chief Operating Officer at Hampstead Hospital, I have over 15 years of experience in leading key growth initiatives within the hospital settings. As a leader I am invested in the ACES model. I am passionate about motivating and mentoring staff to achieve their goals. I am passionate about delivering creative, reliable, and strategic outcomes that streamline processes and improve productivity in a fast-paced environment. I have a proven track record of building and leading motivated teams to achieve departmental goals and collaborating with providers, front line staff, and executives to hire support staff and increase revenue. I am highly praised for my work ethic, problem-solving and communication skills, ethical and empathetic leadership, and ability to lead with vision.
I am working towards my doctorate degree in hopes of giving back to future leaders in the healthcare industry. The DEL program at the University of Charleston in West Virginia has been one of the best decisions I have made for my education. This degree will open doors and allow for me to reach future leaders and provide mentorship through education and experience.

I’m a dedicated healthcare executive with a passion for building systems that deliver compassionate, high-quality care—especially for those who need it most. My greatest motivation comes from my wife and our two daughters, who are not only my biggest supporters but also the reason I strive to lead with integrity, clarity, and purpose. They remind me daily of the importance of resilience, empathy, and staying grounded.
Outside of work, I’m an avid Boston sports fan who never misses a chance to cheer on the Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, or Red Sox, and the University of North Carolina basketball team. I find joy in spending quality time with my family, whether it’s a weekend getaway, a pool party, or simply enjoying the small, meaningful moments at home. I’m also a lifelong learner who enjoys reading and exploring new ideas—whether in leadership, history, current events, or personal growth. This curiosity keeps me sharp, forward-thinking, and deeply committed to evolving as a leader in a constantly changing healthcare landscape.
